THE FUNNY STORY SHOW || friday May 18, 2012

The Funny Story Show

Chicago’s hybrid stand-up/storytelling showcase will have it’s debut on May 18, 2012 at LooseLeaf Lounge with some of Chicago’s most talented funny storytellers.

The Funny Story Show is hosted by Caitlin Bergh, a Chicago comic known around town for her surprisingly honest, joke-filled stories. Bergh is a winner of the Moth StorySLAM and has performed with Cameron Esposito’s Side Mullet Nation at The Playground Theater and The Comedy Bar.

Starting May 18, 2012, The Funny Story Show is every third Friday of the month at 7:30pm at LooseLeaf Lounge. Six comics will be invited to tell a story up 6-8 minutes in length. There are no rules except the story has to be FUNNY. No sad stuff allowed.

After the features, we will have the FUNNY STORY CHALLENGE: Two audience names are pulled from a hat  and each person will have 5 minutes to tell a funny story on any topic. The winner (by audience applause) gets to come back for a featured spot the next month. The debut show on May 18 will be held at LooseLeaf Lounge, 2915 N. Broadway. Scheduled to perform are comedians Kelsie Huff (www.kelsiehuff.com), Chris Condren (Atomic Comics), Lisa Laureta (www.lisalaureta.com), Peter-john Byrnes (Host for Natasha Leggero at Mayne Stage), Mollie Merkel (The Andy Kaufman Award) and Andy Fleming (Shine Box Comedy).

Admission is $5 suggested donation. Doors are at 7 pm For more information visit the show’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/thefunnystoryshow, website www.thefunnystoryshow.tumblr.com or contact Caitlin Bergh.
